The reason for the exile was to instill a renewed sense of righteousness. The Exile helped to direct the worship from the false gods and refocus the worship on the star God (Yahweh). The exile not only refocused the worship, but it to a respite brought the people unitedly as one. Before the exile, there were duet kingdoms.
